Paso Robles, California is a perfect weekend getaway if you live in the California area. Whether you are from the North or the South side of the state. Of course, everyone is familiar with Napa Valley and even Santa Barbara, but Paso Robles is quiet, inexpensive and just as beautiful.
Paso Robles is part of the San Luis Obispo County. It is situated right smack in the middle of Los Angeles and San Francisco off the 101 Highway. It is a great stop during a road trip along the California coastline. You can get to it by train as well if you wish. And if you wish to fly, the best airport to fly into would be Santa Barbara.

Where to Stay in Paso Robles
Rêves de Moutons – Petite Suites
We live in a big city, and every chance we get, we like to venture away. Stay among nature and just “unplug” from the rest of society. However…. I don’t really enjoy camping in the rugged outdoors. So on this particular trip, we compromised and found a happy medium. Via AirBNB, we found the cutest little RV camper Bed & Breakfast among the hills of Paso Robles vineyards. There are three separate campers, each personalized with adorable themes and all the home comforts and amenities. I have never stayed in an RV camper before so this was totally new to me. It’s also considered a Farmstay, when city life folks want to just get away from it all for the weekend. And stay among nature, animals and just enjoy a quiet simple life. Rustic but with a touch of everyday comfort.
Paso Robles Bed and Breakfast
If you enjoy Bed & Breakfasts, then this spot definitely gives you a unique experience. It’s located on a sweet little farm called Rêves de Moutons, in the heart of Paso Robles. The name translates into Dreams of Sheep. You can take a tour of the farm to meet all the animals, and even help feed them early in the mornings.
Check out their website for more details and about how the hosts, Kristy & Evan, made their dreams come true and started their farm just a few short years ago.
The kitchenette and dinette were perfect for my husband and I. We made fresh breakfast each morning with eggs directly from the chickens who live on the farm. And the B&B hosts provided warm baked blueberry scones, fruit and goat cheese at an additional fee.
The property is situated among rolling hills and pastures. With Pistachio trees, grape vines and grass for the sheep and goats to graze on. It’s quiet, private and the air is clean and sweet. And each morning, you’re greeted with a beautiful sunrise framed by the hills and the occasional sheep.
Each camper also has its own small outdoor “patio” area if you would like to enjoy a glass of wine outside and enjoy the sunset. Situated in the center of the three campers is a fire pit, plus seating for larger groups, and a large trellised outdoor dining area for those who like to socialize and rent the entire place for themselves.
Take a walk-through video tour with me of the interior of our little petite suite camper.
The Rêves de Moutons Sheep Farm
I highly recommend visiting during early Spring or early Summer to catch the farm during Lambing season and when the foliage is green and lush. This was a wonderful experience for us as a first timer for a camper RV farmstay. Friendly dogs roam the property along with a donkey who is still being trained to be a “farm security guard.” There are ducks, chickens and goats as well. But do note, that the farm does not cater to children and the accommodations are for adults only. It is not a petting zoo.
If you have never stayed on a farm before and would love to try it, Reves de Moutons is a perfect place to experience it for the first time.
