If you ever get the chance to stay in a Jungle Treehouse in Hawaii, just do it! Who can say “No” to staying in the middle of a tropical jungle on the Big Island of Hawaii; within a beautiful home built up high among the canopy of the island trees. During our recent Hawaii vacation, I wish we had stayed in the Tree House the whole trip! But we didn’t get a chance to and only managed to stay one night. However, one night was enough and I fell in love with it.
The Big Island Bamboo Treehouse in Volcano, Hawaii
Volcano National Park is located in the center of the Big Island of Hawaii. And the small town of Volcano is the best location to stay if you intend on spending time at this incredible National Park. In fact, Volcano is so centralized, it takes about 1.5-hours to get to the city of Kona on the West of the island. And 1.5-hours to get to the city of Hilo on the East of the island. If you don’t mind the drive, I would highly recommend making Volcano your one-stop home-base during your trip. And stay at this fabulous Treehouse in Hawaii the entire time.
Yes, it is a treehouse. No, you won’t need to climb tree vines or ladders to get to the top like Tarzan. It is fully equipped with all the necessary modern necessities of a bed and breakfast. Plus a beautiful spiral staircase to get to the 180-degree balcony with a view of the tropical jungle that surrounds the tree house villa.
They’ve also devised a special pulley system to help load any large bulky luggage up to the treehouse without having to lug it up the narrow staircase. Trust me, they have thought of everything.
The Treehouse Amenities
The treehouse sleeps up to two people comfortably on the bed. It has a gorgeous bamboo lined vaulted ceiling and tiki-style decor. With the addition of a full shower and bathroom. All amenities are up to date and modern, clean and fully functional.
There is a fully equipped kitchen, sink and large refrigerator. With working stove and microwave. And the cabinets are supplied with all your cooking pans, utensils and dining ware. I would suggest loading up on some groceries in town and cook your meals in the tree house to fully experience the bed and breakfast.
There is no better way to wake up than to sounds of tropical birds singing their morning song. Have your hot cup of coffee directly on the treehouse balcony surrounded by lush tropical green foliage.
Make sure to dress warm, the town of Volcano is at a higher elevation, so the temperatures can reach 30-40F late into the evenings and early mornings. There is no centralized heater or air conditioner within the bamboo treehouse of Hawaii so make sure you pack accordingly just in case of weather fluctuations.
Overall, if you intend on visiting the Big Island of Hawaii and are looking for a place to stay, then I would highly recommend this incredible Tree house in Hawaii. The Host is super responsive and accommodating. And their check-in and check-out system is self-serve and super quick and easy.

We stayed at this particular AirBNB during our quick jaunt in Hilo. It is centralized in the town and close to all the shopping, restaurants and local nature sites of Hilo. The hosts are friendly and they have multiple rentals on their property. But do note that the location can be noisy in the late hours and there are not enough power outlets. Otherwise, it’s a very cute, clean and comfortable spot to stay.
